Hells Kitchen and Stereophonic Tie for Most Nods

Alicia Keys Musical and Play About Muscians Earn 13 Nominations Each

The nominations for the 2024 Tony Awards were announced Tuesday morning on CBS and via livestream by Tony winner Jesse Tyler Ferguson (2022's Take Me Out). In the two weeks since Gold Derby launched the 2024 Tony Awards nominations predictions center, over 600 users have made their preliminary picks for which shows, actors and creatives would be recognized.

A semi-autobiographical Alicia Keys musical and a play about a group of musicians struggling to record an album each got 13 Tony nominations on Tuesday, tying for the most nods. Hells Kitchen, featuring songs by Alicia Keys, and Stereophonic, about a 70s rock band, led the pack with 13 nominations each.

A total of 28 shows earned a Tony Award nomination or more Tuesday. Other top nominees include Kimberly Akimbo (12 nominations), Some Like It Hot (10 nominations), and Moulin Rouge! The Musical (9 nominations).
